The brown, blue and purple design features a Samoan village at the centre of the face, with M. Tanumafili II at right. A clear area containing a Rava bowl appears at lower right and is visible from both sides. The reverse shows a family scene at centre and the arms at upper right.

This P31d variety carries the AAD serial-number prefix. The note was printed by NPA without an imprint; its serial number fluoresces orange under ultraviolet light.
